A French band containing members of Stereolab, Tame Impala and Melody’s Echo Chamber is going to set the listener’s expectations very high and knowing that gives them a pretty specific idea of what it will sound like. Aquaserge is exactly that. Hailing from Toulouse, Aquaserge has made a name for themselves by blending elements of Krautrock, Psychedelia, Prog Rock and Bossa-Nova, forming a sound that could generally just be labeled as “Art-Rock”. Laisse Ça Être, which means “Let it be” in French, is the band’s fourth album since they formed in 2008. Released on Crammed Discs, it’s a very contingent album that serves either as amazing background music or music that you can pay close attention to the intricacies of.
